Computers 4 Africa

All of the TribalSQL authors have agreed to donate their royalties to Computers 4 Africa.

Computers 4 Africa is a registered charity operating as a social enterprise. We collect redundant IT, which is refurbished and data-wiped before being sent out to African schools, colleges, and community projects.

Our mission is to help lift the continent of Africa out of the poverty trap by equipping the next generation to work in a global environment. This is the 21st century version of “….teach a man to fish…..”. We do this by supplying the best value computers in the areas where we operate.

At our central processing unit in Kent we receive working redundant computers through collections and local donations from around the UK. The donated equipment is then data-wiped and refurbished, before sending them to schools, colleges and selected community projects in Africa.

Beneficiaries pay a contribution towards the cost of preparing and shipping the equipment – but at the best price available in their locality – that is our ambition. In this way we make modern IT available to those that would otherwise never get to use a computer in their years at school. Computers 4 Africa targets the poorest causes by donating 10% of the computers we send out.
